Personal information collected

When you make an enquiry to me I collect the contact details you have provided, such as your address, email address and telephone number. Personal information also includes information supplied regarding living individuals for the purposes of family history research such as name, date and place of birth, date and place of marriage and number of children.

How your information is used

Your contact details will be used for the purposes of communicating with you regarding your enquiry and, if you then engage me to undertake any work for you, your details will also be used for regular communication with you for the duration of the work. The information is also used for record keeping and accounting. Your contact details will not be used to send out newsletters or general marketing emails. Information regarding living individuals you supply for research purposes will be used solely for the purposes of conducting research on your behalf. Your contact details will not be shared with any third parties.


By contacting me and supplying your contact details you give permission to receiving a reply, as outlined above. By supplying information on living relatives you give consent to the use of that information for any research I undertake for you. You have the right to request a copy of the information I hold for you.

How long I keep your information

I have a legal obligation to retain contact details on paying clients for five years. Contact details for enquirers and clients are generally retained to assist with further enquiries or research. You have the right to withdraw your contact details at any time. Subject to legal requirements, you have the right to request that your information is erased from my records.
